TUESDAY, MARCH 23rd, 2010 words we love: to do lists

700166"Walk in the rain, smell flowers, stop along the way, build sandcastles, go on field trips, find out how things work, tell stories, say the magic words, trust the universe."

After a dazzling, sunny first weekend of spring like we just had, the rainy/chilly side of spring seems like hard medicine. How handy to have a Bruce Williamson's cheery to-do list to gird one's no-don't-take-me-back-to-winter self.

This week's WORDS WE LOVE contest: What is your favorite prescription for life quote? Our top pick will win a dozen Quotable Cards (and a chance to see the winning quote used by our friends who make Quotable Cards – which would, of course, again rate some free cards!). TO ENTER: 1. Tell us (by posting a comment here): What’s your favorite prescription for life quote? And to whom is it credited? 2. Enter by Saturday, March 27th, at 8 pm EST. 3. Watch here for the winner, announced on Tuesday. LAST WEEK'S WINNER: Congratulations, Lexi, for this Irish blessing: "Come in the evening, or come in the morning, Come when you are looked for, or come without warning, A thousand welcomes you will find here before you, And the oftener you come here the more I’ll adore you." -Irish Blessing Thank you to everyone who submitted their favorites. You've blessed us all with great toasts and good cheers!
