wonders never cease

TUESDAY, JUNE 29th, 2010things that happened at 20.
It was grand to see so many wonderfully familiar faces this weekend, coming by to share a toast to (our first) 20 years. Some favorite moments: our friend Larry came bearing these amazing cookies adorned with our logo. They were delicious, and he made them himself. (He can make some for you, too!)There was an impromptu gathering around a stack of champagne bottles and a lively rendition of of "U Can't Touch This," sung in rounds. There were Nina (who's been there for the birth of everything important) & Bernadette, being hilarious and sweet and, of course, crying a bit. There was a trio of fetching friends (Katy, Joanna & Roxanne) whose best wishes were bundled up with Bollinger's.* And there was a lovely note from our friend/landlord/artist Dale, signed with this perfect sketch.
More than once, the question was posed: "twenty years ago, is this how you pictured things would turn out?" Truthfully, I don't think I could've imagined how much fun I'd still be having. Thank you, friends! Thank you, family! Here's to 20 more glorious years for us all.
*Love this quote on the box from Madame Lily Bollinger: "I drink it when I'm happy and when I'm sad. Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I am not hungry and I drink it when I am. Otherwise I never touch it, unless I'm thirsty.
