SATURDAY, JULY 24th, 2010welcome swelter (and the weekend, too).
It's honestly too hot to think of doing much this weekend, but should you venture away from your home and into the wilds of this DC swamp...
+ It's the last weekend of the Capital Fringe Festival, now in its fifth year! What started as a rag-tag group of performance artists has grown into one of the most anticipated events of the summer. Don't miss the final shows and parties, sure to distract from this raging heat wave.
+ It's also the last weekend of our GIGANTIC SALE! We're now offering 20% off the lowest price on sale items, so stop by on Sunday for incredible savings, cool drinks, and air conditioning. (Except on our Georgetown patio, obviously. There's no AC outside, but there's delicious pink lemonade for all!)
+ Screen on the Green is on Monday, this week showing the classic courtroom drama, Twelve Angry Men. The heat should be more bearable by then, but be sure to pack lots of liquids.
+ Perhaps you'd rather stay in and watch a movie. There's only one option for this weather, and it's called Back to the Beach. It's campy and fun and reminds us that if you're feeling down, you need simply sing the "Jamaica SKA," and everything will be a-ok.
