[/caption] OK, we already can't wait for the next Tweed Ride. The first-ever DC version of such, inspired by similar events in other great cities and sponsored by Dandies & Quaintrelles (a social group created to dandy-up DC) took place yesterday and drew hundreds of tweed+bike+fun loving sorts who rode in vintage style from Capitol Hill to Columbia Heights. Entry fees benefitted Arts for the Aging.
The day was gorgeous beyond belief, and the cyclists couldn't have looked more perfectly retro/mod. Witness the tweed-newsboy topped, knickered fellow here with neon-reflecting tie and iphone. (All photos via ReadySetDC, whose coverage is required reading.) Bravo, riders and organizers and fans of the Tweed Ride: you did your city proud. And we've nominated you in our BDL:DC contest!
