FRIDAY, May 6th, 2011welcome weekend.
The month of May is fresh and new this week, and we're finally starting to see the flowers that April showers promised. In this week's round-up episode, we spend time outside, take on New York City, celebrate mothers & jedis, and spend a whole day in fancy hats to watch two minutes of horse racing:
+ Last Saturday, we played in the park for hours and hours, getting our faces painted, trimming bonnets, riding ponies, and generally having good, clean fun. It was the annual Friends of Rose Park celebration, which raises funds to sustain the beautiful land while providing a day of frivolity for children and adults alike.
+ Then we hopped on a bus to New York City to peek at fall's fashion, like Yoana Baraschi (below). Plus, we snagged some great vintage-inspired lines for RIGHT NOW, arriving in our shop soon. What's in next season? Lots of vibrant color (blues and reds), sequins, lace, ruffles, polka dots...it's going to be a fanciful and feminine autumn.
+ While we were tripping the light fantastic, Play List Master Joe cooked up an awesomely rocking---and nerdy---Star Wars play list.
+ And since we've been home, we've been working non-stop to help you all find the perfect Gold Cup/Kentucky Derby hats for Saturday's festivities. Hurry in---we still have fascinators and fancy hats for your racing needs!
+ MOST importantly, Mother's Day is this Sunday, so don't forget to show your appreciation. We've got you covered, if you need inspiration, from quirky cards to beautiful baubles, and everything in between.
